Continuing Education

Continuing education courses are required to maintain industry certifications from organizations such as American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC), American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH), and Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). Most of our courses qualify for continuing education with these organizations. Call us at (312) 920-9393 for more details.

For certifications from ACAC, you will need to document 40 hours of certification renewal credits (CRCs) every two years.  Let Indoor Sciences help you get your needed credits through our online and on site classes.  All of our courses have gone through the approval process from ACAC to ensure that your time in our classes will be recognized.

Here are some of your options for receiving continuing education with ACAC and other organizations:

  • Attend one of our three comprehensive courses online or on-site. Our Certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE) Course will earn you 32 CRCs.   Our Certified Microbial Investigator (CMI) Course will earn you 24 CRCs. Our Certified Indoor Air Quality Manager (CIAQM) Course will earn you 16 CRCs.
  • Attend an online short-course such as the 8 hour HVAC for the IAQ Professional.  It is registered with ACAC for 8 recertification credits (#09111003).  You can also take a small portion of any of our comprehensive courses listed in the first bullet point.  Call us for a quote.
  • Attend the annual meeting for an industry association and go to their technical sessions.  Examples of associations include the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) or American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA).
  • Join your local Indoor Air Quality Association chapter and get involved organizing local events.  Visit the IAQA’s website for more information on local chapters: www.iaqa.org.
  • Read an ACAC recognized reference book and take a test to prove your new knowledge on the subject.  For more details, visit ACAC’s website: www.acac.org.
